Jerry is the retired Group Director of Project Management & Planning for the Engineering Group for Brewing Operations and Technology Division for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Responsible for directing engineering resources for project management, planning, estimating, and contracting groups, Eyink managed the execution of the $500- to $800-million capital plan for the food, beverage, and family entertainment company.

As an active member of CII for over 30 years, Jerry has held many key leadership roles, including serving on CII’s Executive Committee from 2005 to 2007 and Executive Advisory Council in 2009. In 2008, he received CII’s Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his leadership and demonstrated commitment to support CII’s mission to improve the cost effectiveness of the capital project life cycle.

“The Richard Tucker award is quite meaningful to me because Richard is the person who inspired me to participate in CII, back in 1985,” said Eyink. “He convinced me that joining CII would be a win-win: both for my career and for the growth of CII. I am also quite proud that I have been able to collaborate and work with all five of the CII Directors.”

In 1976, Eyink received his BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He earned his MBA from Saint Louis University in 1982. In addition to his impressive involvement with CII, Jerry’s other professional affiliations include leadership roles in the National Academy of Construction (NAC), The St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers, PRIDE St. Louis (Productivity & Responsibility Increase Development & Employment), and serves as a guest lecturer at Arizona State University since 2011 in the Del E. Webb School of Construction.

Currently, Jerry is helping to manage a team of more than 200 volunteers to launch CII’s new “Knowledge Base,” a transformational tool that allows members improved and easier access to the value of more than 30 years of industry knowledge. Over the last two years, this team has taken CII’s (often cumbersome) research reports and tools and have transformed them into much easier to read, four or five-page Topic Summaries accessible through a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate search portal on CII’s website. He is also an instructor for CII’s Executive Leadership Program.

Among other distinctions, Eyink was elected to the National Academy of Construction in 2011, and in received the 2010 Joe Rinke Owner Award in recognition of advancing the mission of cooperation and collaboration across the St. Louis construction industry to improve competitiveness in the region. Throughout his decades of service to CII, Jerry has served on the research institute’s Board of Advisors, Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Implementation Strategy Committee, Education Committees, Annual Conference Committee, Knowledge Management Committee, and Research Teams.
