Materials management is a complex and comprehensive process that consists of people, organizations, technology, and processes used to manage the definition, sourcing planning, quantification, supplier qualification, purchasing, supplier QA/QC, expediting, transportation, logistics, and controlling of materials and associated information across the lifecycle of a capital project.
